Welcome to the Victorian Autism Conference 2016
Every two years, Amaze presents one of Australia’s leading conferences on autism, and this year’s VAC is no exception.
Focusing on the theme of inclusion, ALL IN_ VAC2016 has secured one of the most progressive current thinkers on autism in the world as its keynote speaker – Steve Silberman.
Author of Neurotribes, Steve is redefining our understanding of autism, and the role that people on the spectrum play in the modern world.
He has unveiled the power of autism in Silicon Valley and brings his world-altering ideas and findings to Melbourne for the first time and exclusively to VAC2016.
Can you afford to miss what Steve has to say?
We have also invited a number of inspiring speakers to share insights from their lived experiences of autism to VAC2016, led by our MC Malcom Mayfield, who had an Aspergers diagnosis in his 30’s.
In addition to our exciting speaker line-up, VAC2016 aims to be the most inclusive VAC ever.
A range of innovations designed to create a conference that caters more to people on the autism spectrum, including a quiet room in its own dedicated area away from the main conference activity, pre ordered lunch packs, social scripts and reserved seating.
The program will also feature a presentation by someone with a lived experience of autism at every session.
VAC2016 will bring together individuals, family members, supporters, educators, researchers
and practitioners who have one thing in common – the autism spectrum.
We’re ALL IN_ for VAC2016 – are you?
