Charmaine Bernie OT B.Occ.Thy (Hons) is the Senior Occupational Therapist with the Autism Research Team and the Autism Service Coordinator for children under 6 years at the Royal Children’s Hospital. She has worked as a Neurodevelopmental Occupational Therapist for over 15 years in Australia and the United Kingdom, and specialised in the area of autism assessment for children with complex presentations. She is currently leading a study into the longitudinal follow up of children diagnosed with ASD before or around the time of school entry, with the aim of exploring symptom stability and variation over time. Charmaine is also involved in the Unique Twins Study looking at sensory processing across identical twin pairs where one or both has a diagnosis of ASD.
